Ever since I found Pterodactyl Shark Bunny he has been a very competitive creature. Every chance he gets he will try to win something. He even tried to win a race against a fighter pilot. But that’s a different story. After much begging and pleading from PSB I have reluctantly let him enter Battle of The Pets 2010. It had bad idea written all over it, but it’s hard to argue with a 303lb Pterodactyl Shark Bunny.
We arrived a little late, but it didn’t matter to me, nor to PSB. He was ready to eat the competition, and if I wasn’t there, he probably would have. I got PSB a collar, which didn’t do much good because then I was at the mercy of which ever direction he wanted to pull me. He ran around trying to find our booth, knocking over a few other displays along the way. Once we arrived at our relatively small booth, PSB let out a battle cry. That’s the only way I can really describe it. It was more like a screech now that I think about it. Not only did it draw a tremendous amount of attention onto us, but it also sent all the other animals into a frenzy of panic and mayhem. As their owners tried to calm them down, we took this opportunity to get some grub. We weaved in and out of the crowds while we got nasty looks from everyone. I found a concession stand towards the back of the building and ordered two hot dogs, one for PSB and the other for me. Then we satisfyingly watched the chaos go through stages of increase and decrease.
By the time we finished our hot dogs all the animals were calm, but most still had their tail between their legs. As you could have guessed the actual pet show was being postponed due to this little episode.
Fast forwarding to the actual competition. In the beginning PSB was acting like a normal pet; he was strutting his stuff up and down the arena. I thought PSB was going to win me a few hundred dollars and a trophy at this rate. The real problem started when the judges began to inspect each animal. You know, health, size, all that stuff.
First we had a little trouble getting Pterodactyl Shark Bunny onto the podium, which upset him a little. Then he didn't appreciate the judges poking him, which just agitated him all the more. The last thing that absolutely threw him off the edge was the little chihuahua named, Princess FooFoo. This chihuahua annoyed the heck out of PSB to the point of wanting to bit the little rat-dog's head off, and I don't blame him. That thing was as annoying as movie theater prices. The thing kept yapping and yapping. Gosh, if PSB didn't do something about it, I would have.
PSB first gave a nasty growl in it's direction. Then, after the rat-dog barked back and started to jump around like an idiot, PSB jumped off the podium and hit the nasty thing with one of it's wings. And even that wasn't enough, the accursed thing got back onto its feet and started to yap again. That was it for PSB, he flew out of the place faster than the clothes leaving a 75% off sale.
I tried to blend in while I snuck out, but it's harder than you would think.
And that was it for PSB's pet show appearances.
